The pride and love Nana Bunty has for her family has always shone through. So much so that it is like her family is an extension of herself.

When Nana comes to stay on the Gold Coast it has always meant plenty of visits to her apartment in Surfers Paradise.

It didn’t matter which level of the hotel she was on, us kids would always want to go out on the balcony and check out the view.

This didn’t mesh well with Nana who always said ‘Oooh, don’t go out there – my legs turn to jelly’. So we would have to wait until she wasn’t looking and sneak out making sure she wouldn’t see.

I don’t know where this fear of heights came from but I know I was shocked when Nana commented on a Facebook photo of me paragliding ‘yewwwwwwww’ even though you could see how high I was over the ground. Maybe we will have her sky diving for her 81st birthday!
